Have a new Hass TL-1 but am experiencing a problem.
Following the manual, step by step, I keep receiving the following message when trying to run an MDI "face" program: "Haas Alarm: 316 X OVER TRAVEL RANGE"
I've tried the "X axis in various positions and always get the same message after pressing cycle start. The lathe has a 4 place turret. I don't have a tool loaded or anything in the spindle.
Really confused and would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
AJ

Thanks for the reply Wildman. I did set the offsets. After receiving the x316 message the first time, I restarted the lathe, zero'ed all axis, and set offsets accordingly. Entered face tab, entered dia. and receive the message "316 X OVER TRAVEL RANGE" after pressing the cycle/start button. This really has me stumped.
Worked yesterday, but not today. Hope I didn't mess anything up. Unfortunately, there are not any reps near my area.
I probably messed something up on the "Face" screen. Although it sure looks right to me. Hopefully I'll have a little time to play with it tomorrow.

Had a spare 20 minutes to play with the lathe yesterday. After homing all axis, setting the offsets and filling facing information the face program worked fine. Got busy and had to leave it.
Few hours later I started it back up and after homing, setting offsets and face info I got the x316 overtravel message again. This really has me scratching my head. I'll be callingHaas for help Monday.
NEEDS TOOL OFFSET IN X
I had a similar issue until I set the work off-set (G54) at the home-zero point.
Tool offsets from G53 or G54? The MDI program syntax has to match internal settings. Will it work on a turning canned cycle?
