dear robgrz, i downloaded you meshcam the otherday, and i say its absolutly fantastic!, i make model aircraft adn used it to test if i can cut fuselage halves out for molding....and its wonderfull, the only prob i have seen is if you set the mesh in i.e. 2 in x axis and 1 in y it locks up, but apart from that its wonderful, please if i can helpin any way i will, the software is wonderfull and the process is very easy to use. Also have you thought of a way of doing 4axis cutting, because we could use that and have no idea how its done, you must have spent a long time developing it , and any help i can give i would be more than happy to..

    best regards,

I think you have to COPY and PASTE your password(From ur email) when you trying to open the Zip file. i type 3 times, same result "incorrect password specified". When i tried to COPY and PASTE method, it works every single time(3 times). So try that.

That lockup problem sounds pretty strange. I'll look into it but a lot of that code has already been rewritten since the last release so I hope it's already gone. The first release candidate should be out in a couple of weeks with a lot of great changes.

Regarding the password, I made the mistake early on of picking a password with a lowedcase L that's often confused with a 1. The next release will use the new license system and not have the password. I just finished the code for it today.

I tried Meshcam and it looks great Robert. This may be off the subject but it looks like I may need (want) to buy a 3dcad program for home that will work with Meshcam or other cam software and would like to know what programs have been used or people are using with Meshcam with good results. I would like to look into a low cost cad as cnc is another hobby I am getting into and if the boss (wife) finds out how much I spent on this one. I don’t have the budget like work so I want something low cost this is only a hobby but maybe I could make something to sell would the boss buy that one?

Low cost is a relative thing, but about the only thing I'll use is Rhino. I've never had a problem with a file from Rhino being imported into MeshCAM where some more expensive programs have been found to output errors in their files, requiring changes to MeshCAM.

At list price it's pretty expensive for home use, but you can get it much cheaper at http://www.ob.com/ or http://www.computersculpture.com .

Even though it's great for 3d I've come to prefer it even for 2d work. Every time I try another program I get mad and go back to Rhino.

If you've downloaded the .zip version then make sure you're using WinZip to extract it. I've heard of problems with other programs. If you're not using WinZip then grab the .exe version; it'll work better for you. If the file is corrupt then email me and let me know which version you want and I'll email it to you. meshcam at robgrz dot com.

    Sorry for the trouble,
