Circular Cut

Hi,
I was just wondering if Meshcam can do a circular cut intead of parallel passes. I want it to follow the contour of the part, otherwise a jagged edge results.
Thanks.

Buy me a Beer?

Use waterline, but to get it really smooth, you have to turn up oversampling pretty high.

Thanks.

It will make your toolpaths come out much smoother.

So no way to actually contour and follow a path eh? Any chance of it being in the next version?
Thanks.

Geof will become famous soon enough

If you are cutting a true circle or part of a circle why not direct program circular interpolation?

Why not?!

May I suggest to join the MeshCAM support group for suggestions to the editor...

Sounds like you need a 2.5D CAM program, like SheetCAM.

Well, Sheetcam would work fine, but if you have seen contour on a program like Mastercam, you don't have to convert the 3d model to an outline to do that. You can just run your parallel passes, then finish it off with a contour that follows the edges to clean it up.
Thanks.

I was going to post a question about profiling and saw this thread so has anything been done about profiling, I've been playing with Meshcam and really like it but it would be much better if the profiling was done with interpolated moves, circles etc, it just seems to go from point to point at teh moment.

I've been trying out the version 2 beta as well as version 1

You can use the waterline option and then finish with a pencil toolpath to cleanup at the end.
