if so, when are the new ones coming, and will they cost more for the one with that feature?
It only would require firmware upgrade to support this feature in currently available drive. I'm haven't decided if I'm going to implement this in firmware (and GDtool).

ah, so i can just buy drives when i need them, and know that if you do add that feature, it will work with mine.

merci.

Tero, it would be great if that option is implemented.
Having a double closed loop will put the drive in a different category. It will also bring the possibility of having good dynamics and precision in low cost systems. Probably this is the only thing missing in the topology of your
control loop, where you have already the three usual nested loops.
Usually, industrial cnc machines close the position loop on the controller and
the velocity loop on the drive. To be able to do that you need a controller with this capability (e.g. Heidenhain, Bosch-Rexroth, Siemens,...)
Low cost cnc controllers (e.g. Mach) don't have this ability. So, having
the drive doing that will be a great benefit. There are also simple 1 or 2
axis precision applications that will benefit from this option.
In fact is the main reason that is keeping me from buying some of your drives (which I really like, specially the ability to standardize on a hardware
that solves a lot of motion control applications in a lab environment).

Having an EtherCAT interface will be the icing on the cake and will also
open a lot of industrial applications to your drives

wiat, what? i thought this was a new drive for the dual servo. crazy man

now if you could do dual brushless, youd save me a bit of money!

the dual encoder for one motor thing is a separate (potential) update though right?

Xerxes,
Is your dual driver only for DC servo motor? Thanks. Asuratman.

Making 2 axis AC drive would require significantly more complex & expensive hardware. I'm not probably doing it.

Jose,
Thanks for wise thoughts. I might do experiments with linear encoders support one day.
EtherCAT seems interesting but thousands pages of complex specifications are absolutely not tempting :P

This would be very helpfull to have. I would be changing out my drives and putting these in if they could do this.
