Could not connect to VSD-EX drive. Kept Getting 'usb cable not found' , I investigated the cable , found that there was strong 'burnt' smell coming from usb connector end. I 'operated' on that end , found a fried mini-chip ! I would like to order an overnight replacement from digi-key. Can someone post part number ? Thanks in advance |

Purchased replacement FTDI Cable , installed it ,Now the VSD-E Drive seems dead. I powered it up , and NOTHING COMES ON. No led activity of any kind. What can I do ? How can I get it , inspected or repaired |

| Thanks for quick reply. Yes, I removed the drive from the cabinet , and applied 12 Volts DC from a car battery to get a nice clean supply. it just does not light up. computer does not see it either . I removed the cover and inspected it. I see no signs of burnt components. checked the power fuse. its ok. It was behaving badly for a while, I fear the worst. |

BTW, car battery (at least without a fuse) may not be the best power source as it can deliver hundreds of amps when something goes wrong. Tero |
