Tero,
I've bought 3 VSD-E drives for over 2 months, but I dare not make any movement. I'm more into trying to understand the 20x to 30x times rated voltage.
My 1810 oz/in stepper motor has a rated voltage of 6.6volts and 4.4amps.
6.6volts x 20 = 132volts. but your drive max voltage is 84...
VSD-E is limited to 7AMPS...
Looks like there's no difference between Mariss' Geckodrive and your VSD-E, other than closed loop.
While I've been using Geckodrive G203V to operate my 1810 oz/in stepper motor, It has less torque delivered to the stepper because I cannot go beyond 80VDC.
Please help me...
I've calculated a value of 11000uF for one VSD-E driver, thats reasonable. but I'm not quite sure how many watts of power I need, as I cant settle the 20x rated voltage.
If possible, I want to have 25x times of rated voltage, and running at 7AMPS.
What power supply should I deliever to VSD-E, other than a 12VDC logic supply?
You manual didn't really explain the 20 or 30 or 40x rated voltage...

Oh yeah, also how does the stepper servo mode actually works? does it work like a brushless DC/AC servo? if in servo mode, means i can increase up to 20amp?
