Hi, I have a new project im planning that involves driving brushless dc linear motors with Renishaw RGH22 encoders. Does anyone have any experience with using very high resolution quadrature encoders with VSD-A drives? The encoder resolution is 0.5um, so the recommended update rate at max speed would be 24Mhz, and reading the VSD-A specs the update rate is 3Mhz, so does this mean i need to de-rate the max velocity accordingly or are there other options? If i end up only using the VSD-A drives as torque controllers, can i divide the encoder output to the drives (as its only being used for commutation)?
