    Angry USB to SPI Cable

Does anyone know what the pin out is on the USB to SPI cable? I had one from years ago and saw it a few days ago.. but not sure where the little men in my shop [the imaginary ones who move everything around so you lose it] put it?

I've got some plugs that I could make the SPI plug outta just need the pin outs from a USB cable and I'll hack one together.

    I'm using a VSD-A for a drive btw..

    Thanks

The USB-SPI cable is a standard FTDI cable. Examine pages 10 and 11 of this document for details. I'm not sure why Granite Devices calls it an SPI connector when it seems to operate as a TTL level RS-232 connection.

I better qualify my response: I have VSD-E drivers, and the above cable is appropriate for them. I do not know if the same cable works with a VSD-A.

Thanks Pete, the VSD-A cable is slightly different in that it runs to a small board like connector that has a female 0.100 header x 2 rows of 5 pins [i can't remember the proper name for it]..

Thanks for the link however! now if I ever buy a VSD-E I'll know where to get a spare cable should i need it!

We call it SPI adapter because we use a bitbang mode to communicate with drive's SPI bus instead of RS232.
