Here's a link to USB information, including the wiring pinouts https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikiped...USB_connectors
Hello.
I have ordered all that I could remember from granite devices, and now it seams that I must also have the USB cable to connect the drives to the PC for using the GDtool. Is the cable "special" or it is easy to make?
Any one with the wiring?
Acquiring the cable from Finland is more expensive than the cable itself I believe.
Thank you

Thank you for the reply.
I am familiar with the USB cable, but I do not know how the cable relates to the Granite VSD drive. The VSD drive have 6 pins for the USB connection and the USB standard cable have only 4 (data+, data-, +5vdc, gnd).
I did not found any documentation about the cable on the granite web site.
Thank you
It is a USB to TTL level serial port in a cable. This is the part number FTDI TTL-232R 5V. I bet you can find one close to you.
Thank you.
That was the info that I needed.
