Im having a weird problem although making progress. I have a USB smooth stepper pumping out to VSD 4 port BOB and then the two VSD-E boards. When I set home from within mach3 90% of the time it will home at the % jog pace I set. I have soft limits setup correctly and the like and they seem to behave most of the time. Every now and then I will click goto home or set home and the machine just runs off at full speed towards home rather than the % speed set in homing limits. Sometimes I can catch it with e-stop and the drive wont trip other times the drive will trip with follow error and I have to clear the error. Ive run cycle testing for about 5 hours straight and haven t been able to produce a problem it seems only relating to homing. Im not using the homing cycle from the VSD board rather the homing switches are wired into the second parallel interface on the smooth stepper. Anyone have any ideas? |

| Just encase i wasnt clear about the kind of runaway when homing this isint the full scale runaway you would see when you drop the encoder out the back of your motor. This runaway is at the same speed as the highest tuned speed of your motor. Thanks anyone who can help.... |

| My guess is a Smoothstepper issue.
