I just started turning some parts out of cast acrylic on a Romi cnc slant bed lathe. It seems as if it is leaving an abrasive film on the machine. The machine has all of the way covers in place but I am still concerned. Is this material hard on machine tools? What precautions should I take? Thanks, Pete |

| I do not think you need worry. Acrylic does not have any fillers such as glass fibers and the acrylic dust itself feels gritty but it is really quite soft. I have machined lots of acrylic on manual and CNC machines and not had problems.
