cutting PP and ABS

First post - What's the best method to cut Polypropylene and ABS sheets & rods down to suitable size for milling parts?

I have been using a band saw with a fine cut blade to make blanks with pretty poor results - melting, gumming up, etc.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
