I was at home depot the other day looking for a sheet of 1" MDF. I couldn't find the MDF but I walked by some artificial decking material. It was about 1 inch thick 6" wide and 8' long, so I bought one for about $15.
I think this is the same stuff:

"Trex is made primarily with recycled plastic grocery bags, reclaimed pallet wrap and waste wood."
I was just planning on using it for the pipe adjustment blocks for my cnc design, but I was wondering if anyone else had any experience cutting or machining this material. They say you can use it like wood. I just plan to cut out a few squares, cut a big hole in the center and drill and tap the 4 sides to I can align the gas pipe I'm using in my CNC design.
I'll post updates if I ever get a chance to cut the board. I've had it for over a week and I just haven't had time to get out the saws.
