| "BOB" is this a CMS techno-metal cnc? if it is I'm pretty sure it's the big brother to Junior Technometal cnc which is the one I've been using for quit a few years now. as far as rapid and feed rates go "rapid" = travel between machinings so it can be very fast & "feed rate" = is the actual machining travel so it all depends on the tool and process you're doing i.e routing is usually around 450mm pm @ around 10 000 -15,999 rpm, and the diamond and polishing feeds usually upto 2000mm pm for 4mm - 6mm thick glass and around 1200mm pm for 8mm and up @ no more than 5000rpm. it really depends on how much glass you are taking off per pass one hit. as far as 3mm goes I wouldn't waste my time it's very brittle and easy enough to work with by hand. what year model is the machine and what software does it use. here's a sample of some side projects I've done http://weekendoutdoors.awardspace.co...20waterjet.htm |
