Greetings to all of you. Since I need to make just few elements like this and plastic injection molding will be very expensive is it possible this shape to be produced whit CNC? Thanks in advance, Last edited by liat; 09-16-2010 at 01:52 PM. |

You need a 3d CAM program (like DeskProto) and some ball-nose endmills. If you use DeskProto, try the 2-side wizard. It won't be particularly economical to mill them out individually, if you're selling them, but as a prototype it should work fine. You could also make a 2-piece silicone rubber mold and cast them in urethane, if you want to do a limited production run. Andrew Werby www.computersculpture.com |

| Thanks you really for the info. Casting is not an options in this case I need many kind of different objects similar to this on the picture but 1 - 5 pieces max. Probably the best options is rapid prototyping. I found this printer: http://www.printin3d.com/3d-printers...nal-3d-printer at a reasonable price which probably will do the work. |
