    Forvet Passcode

I require a passcode for an old Forvet glass mill/drill running on an Osai 10 Gp system. I need to access the Characterization parameters to rescale the X axis. However Forvet have installed a password to protect this area. Can anybody help.

I can't tell you the password...
But the way I access the OASI 10 system is with a boot disk in the floppy drive. Any good old DOS6.## should provide all the access you need.

It is also how I do a complete system back up that includes all the driver files (and locations). The "backup" offered thru the interface only backs up tools and programs. Not much use if the HD is dead and you want to replace in house.

I can also help you replace the LCD if it is dead (happens alot!)

    Thanks for the reply.
I have had no problems backing up and reinstalling the complete system in the past. But i do have a major scaling issue on the x axis belts. The only way to alter this is through the characterisation section in the parameters.
However this is password protected by Forvet. I also work on Siemens, Heidenhain and Fanuc machine tool systems and have never yet had a machine builder in the metal cutting industry password protect the machine data settings. It seems to be the norm however in the glass industry. We should not, as technicians have to pay service techs from overseas or interstate to travel to make one small 5 minute alteration on a very old almost scrap piece of machinery. Sorry for venting off but i am very frustrated and so is my customer.
