    Turning virgin nylon

Anyone have any experience turning virgin nylon. I'm turning a 2" bar down to 1.874 and I was expecting some thermal growth ( since I'm using a water sol. with flood ).

My QC guy got something off the net that says I should rough turn these parts then let them sit for a week until they stop changing size??? I really don't have that kinda time ( who does? lol )

    Any thoughts?

Turn it dry, and use a very sharp HSS tool with quite a lot of rake.

Nylon is hygroscopic, it will absorb some water. That may make a difference. It may need to be oven dried I believe.
