Good machinable plastic for use in engine bay

What kind of plastic would be easily machinable as well as resistant to high heat for use on an engine? Preferably something that isn't $50 a linear foot.

I need to make something that would snap on to a ball as part of a linkage. Any tips would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mike

My tip would be to not use plastic.

You can get some heat resistant plastics but you are talking $$$ and specialty orders.

Time for a re-think of the design...

I would use some sort of nylon. Turning it won't be fun but milling it is not too bad. Use really sharp HSS tools and keep the feed rate up. Temperature rating is over 200F which should be ok as long as you aren't too close to an exhaust pipe.
