This might work in your case
In the past I have used diamond hole saw drills to make 2" holes in 3/8 glass. Using clean water and a clay dam around the area to be drilled. fill clay dam around the tool with water keeping the tool underwater at all time. chip removal was simple flooding over the dam with clean water. when it started to look like milk I poured more water and let it flood over the clay dam .
