creation of a helical spline

Hello,

I need help in creating a helical spline. I have and old CNC mill that can't do a 3axis move using G2 or G3, helical interpolation.

I would like to thread mill but I am having a difficult time figuring out how to make a helical spline. I can use the plug-in Helix Builder but it doesn't produce the G code I am looking for, linear XYZ moves.

Any suggestions??

Thanks

Thanks.. But this is basically what I get when posting. My machine doesn't like 3axis helical moves. I will do 3axis linear moves. So I am looking for Gibbs help on how to make a helical spline.

Create your helix
select the helix
go to modify-segment spline, select lines input your tolerance say .00001
click do it

Also, if you create a circle, arc or helix in one cs and rotate it in another
it automatically turns it into a spline. Try it. Use ctrl-l to activate labels and you'll see.

I just found another way,

go to plugins>geometry>create tapered thread

In the angle field enter zero

in the field where it asks if you want splines or arcs select spline.
