Gibbis Cam posting troubles

Hey all

Just wondering if any if you guys had any luck with your post for your machines. It seems like every post my shop has something wrong with them so you have to hand edit the code your self to get to work right. It's getting downright old cause if I wanted to hand edit the code, I would of write the program my self using pencil and paper. It seems like the majority of the threads here are about the posting problems and not on how to program with Gibbs.

I contacted Gibbs about editing a post and this is the reply I got

"The Post Department has determined that this is a new 3-Axis Mill post for the customer. We’ll implement the requested post changes at no charge with a purchase of 3-Axis Mill post, which is $200."

This statement confuses me as much as reading a Fanuc Parameter manual. How can they say they will modify the post free of charge if you buy a 3-axis mill post? It's not really free if you have to buy something in my book. Is this a standard business practice? Or just a Gibbs thing.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had a post for a Fanuc OM that looks thing like this:

If anyone is willing to share with me, that would be great.

I don't think I have anything that can work for you but I know where your coming from. I dealt with having to hand edit posted programs because there was always something that wouldn't be right. I have never had any problems with Gibbs changing my posts around. In fact, they did it for free everytime. The only time I had to pay them is if I was getting a brand new post. If I want a post that I already purchased changed, then they do it no charge.

Well, I finely convince my boss (after a lot of yelling) to get the post updated and I am happy to report that the Gibbs team did a excellent job fixing the post (quick to, only one business day ). They did miss a code for the tap cycle, but I notified Gibbs and they are working on the fix as I type. I just can't believe how some people will put up with up with a improper post and think it "just fine". I all it took was a simple e-mail to my Gibbs Cam reseller and they were able to straighten things out from there.
