Hello,
I recently bought a Fadal to get some garage/snowmobile projects going. I bought the machine, and have the programming support of some programmers/machinists at work.
I have the opportunity to buy a used gibbs package. It was used on a Haas, so I was told that the "brand speccifc" details are on the dongle. This package does have the dongle. Can the software package be transferred to me from the original owner for a reasonable price? and I might have some support? Or is this just used software and "I'll be on my own" if we have any technical questions for Gibbs? We use mastercam at work so not many guys are experienced with Gibbs, but I thought if I can get a working version for a less than $1000, it would be a good time to learn Gibbs. Initially the work will be simple 2D, but we expect to grow from there. Again, this is only a "garage operation" so there isn't much money available.
Thanks in advance,
Tim
Yes, Gibbs allows license transfer for a fee, at least they used to. You'll need to contact Gibbs for info.
Is your software installed on the controller or is it the standalone package? If it's on the controller it would be the SFP version and I wouldn't worry about license transfer.
