    Drawing Module gear

I am using Gibbscam, I have one problem with it , I am using mm, when I try to draw a gear I do not have option of Module, only DP. Does anybody know of a solution to this.

I have to draw it on Peps cam which is about 20 years old.

    See if this helps.

    Thanks
I have tried that , does'nt work as module is mm per tooth, DP is teeth per inch.

The problem is'nt conversion, I can draw it on other software and import it.

Maybe if I had latest version of Gibbs it might be OK but the maintenance cost is to high.

When I try to use Gibbs gear generator it wil not accept the correct data, it is not a major problem, just wondering is there a way around it.

    Thanks

DP is the number of teeth in 3.14" (PI) on the pitch diameter. Since PI is constant and unitless I am not sure it matter whether it is metric or not.

Did you try converting the Module to DP?

    Module gear

DP is teeth per inch diameter not circumference, module is mm per tooth on diameter.
The problem is not conversion, I just cannot get Gibbs to produce profile.

Had some time to think about this. If the program is asking for Pitch in mm. have you tried converting module to DP(in mm) by using this formula:

number of teeth/pitch diameter (in mm) = DP (in metric)

Seems a little strange BUT I checked the logic with some gears I have worked with and it does add up for coming up with a metric DP.
