I have a pretty good handle on selecting a point as my drilling location, but I have a couple of questions about selecting circles. When I'm working with solids, and extract holes: 1. What are my options for determining the depth at which the circle is located, and 2. How do I set up my drilling process so the circle is the depth to which the shoulder of my drill drills. 3. Also, I want to drill at the Z plane in the image below and am having some trouble working that out. The part below is taken from the Solid Import module. I want the shoulder of my drill to drill to the deepest circle. Its a 0.775 diameter circle. ![]() Thanks |

| I think I might have it. I selected the machining CS on the Rotate tab. ![]() I highlighted the Surface Z box in the drill depth diagram and interrogated the boss face at Z0. in my CS. Then I highlighted the Full Diameter Z box in the drill depth diagram (highlighted in the image), selected the lowest circle, and interrogated it. That seems correct to me. Are there other ways to get it. I don't seem to be able to dimension that depth with the dimensions palette. |

| The way you did it is correct. Select the correct CS and either interrogate a face, circle, point, or enter a known value. The Align, Horizontal, Vertical & Point dimension tools all require points, arcs and circles won't work with them. |
