    surfcam to gibbs cam

    i am interviewing for a job on monday that uses gibbs cam, i have been using surfcam for ten years, can anyone speculate on the ease of transition ?

    Most CAM use same way for CNC programming. And GibbsCAM is easy for learn if you have some training materials.

    I agree

    He has the most direct answer, my reply is to only agree. From my experience among CAM programs Gibbs is quite easy, especially in 2D. Transition between most CAM programs primarily matters in adapting to a different GUI.

    Just play safe and you'll get it figured out

    Surfcam to Gibbs

    3dwhiz,

    The post files for Gibbs are practically identical to the ones used by Surfcam (postform.m). When we looked at Gibbs a while back, we took our postform file and changed the extension and it posted fine. We're still with Surfcam though (Surf2001).
