    PostHaste & GIBBS

    I can't seem to get the correct feed rate for tapping using Gibbs with PostHaste. For example, I tell Gibbs that I am using a 3/8" tap with 24tpi and the feed rate that PostHaste gives me in the program is F25. If I change the tpi to 20 in Gibbs, PostHaste gives me F30. I have been having pretty good luck with PostHaste, but have not been able to figure this out. I would appreciate any help.

    Thanks

    If you use 3/8" tap and put 24 tpi, in process you choice Tap and put RPM 240, you will get F10. in your program, you can try another PostHaste, should be no problem.

    Anyway, I don't like PostHaste, i think compost is the best.

    Hope is help!

    Thanks

    Thanks Jeff, I had no idea that the speeds were tied to the feed rate.

    For tapping:

    Feed (IPM) = RPM X pitch

    IPM = 1000 X 0.050 (1/4-20 ---- 1/20 = 0.050)

    IPM = 50
