    waterjet cutting corian

    Hey all,

I'm trying to waterjet some corian sheets that are .5" thick. I'm using a low pressure pierce and that seems to be working OK. I haven't had any chipping during piercing. However, I am getting small chips in the material occasionally as the waterjet is cutting. After it pierces it goes back to high pressure. The chips aren't too bad, but I was wondering if there is a way to eliminate them. Also any other tips for speeding up the cutting would be greatly appreciated. FYI I have an OMAX 55100 machine. Not sure if this will make a difference.

    Thank you!

Never cut this stuff before. I'd suggest maybe cutting the whole part out at low pressure, or lowering your high pressure from 50k to 40k by turning down the RPM on the pump.

We have the same machine as you, I would also suggest contacting Omax - they are a wealth of information and very helpful.

    Good luck
