    Thermal Dynamics machine torch adapter

I have a Thermal Dynamics machine plasma torch that i got with the base for my plasma table. I need to find a way to adapt it to a Everlast cut 80. I have seen adapters for miller etc. I am not really sure what i need to look for. Can someone here provide some info as a starting point.

On a machine torch what leads are needed to come off the torch
there are a lot of pins on the inside of the "onetorch" fitting. How many do i really need. Why are there so many pins I cant think that there are that many connections in the nozzle.

    Thermal Dynamics machine torch

I assume that you have the "1 torch, model SL100 machine torch". Sounds like it also has their ATC quick connector. Thermal makes adapters so that their torches will adapt to other brands. I believe they make the ATC Adapter which is a short pigtail with the female ATC on one end, and the wiring connections on the other. It includes a thru-hole protector so you can mount it through the power supply bulkhead. They also make a panel mounted ATC receptacle. I've looked through my books but I can't find any part numbers. If you look into the connector on the torch lead you will see a brass tube with an o-ring- that is the negative plasma lead. Directly below it is a square receptacle- that is the pilot lead. The four pins to the left (top to bottom) are either open or are used depending on the type of torch ( shielded or not, hand or machine). If you have an unshielded machine torch then the top two are not used unless you have the optional remote pendant. The bottom two are for the PIP (parts in place) switch. It won't let the machine turn on unless you have the consummables correctly installed. On the other side, the top pin is either unused, or is the shield drain for the pendant if you have a shielded torch. The next one down is not used on most applications. The 3rd one down is either unused or is the Negative / pilot shield drain. Lastly, the bottom pin is unused for most applications. All this is assuming you are looking at the end with the small brass tube and o-ring. Confused yet? Just get in touch with a thermal distributor and get the adapter.

    2 many pins

Well i am out of town so i am now going by memory. I am beyond thoroughly confused. I will call a TD distributor tommorow and try to get some more info on adapting. I am interested in the panel mount part. I diddnt know they had that. It would give a very nice look to my build. Thanks
