Koike Aronson IK1500 add CNC control

Hello, First post here. This site is unbelieveable, so much information. I am looking for information that will allow me to add CNC control to a Koike Aronson optical tracer system. I can obtain the Koike for a reasonable price, the machine is low time and in good operating condition. The factory recommended converter quoted an astounding price for the conversion, way out of my budget. The machine is an IK 1500G with a Northrup-Grumman HL83A controller. I would like to retain the optical capabilities and install cnc as the primary control. I have a manual lathe and mill/various welding machines. I am a machinist/weldor by trade currently, located in Cool, Texas. I previously had 20 years experience in aircraft autopilot mechanical design and installation.
I would appreciate comments as to the practicality and guidance to where I can find the information required. Thank You in advance for your time. Larry

If you want an off the shelf package, check with Burny Controls.
The down side with a trace table is it takes up twice the space as a CNC table.
Also, the tables I have converted the customer always wants to keep the trace system, just about all of them never use it again after the CNC has been added!.
If you can get hold of Acroloop ACR8000 card, I have software that major manuf like MG Systems and Koike Aronson, and others used on their machines at one time.
It was written for Plasma/Gas tables.

Take a look at the Hypertherm Automation line of controllers and torch height control systems. All of these controls are industrial quality CNC's...in fact they are used by Koike on many of their new machine installations. Here is a link:
