Cutting Glass

What other machine can cut glass besides waterjet. Currently we have some glass company, we also shower doors installation services. Some of the custom door require door hinges cutout of the glass. We use waterjet company do all the cutout before we send to the glass door to temper. The thickness of the glass range 3/8" to 1/2" thick.

Do you have experience or can recommend a machine that can do the job. I don't CNC router with the right bits can do the job?

I've had large glass windows about 4" thick machined (lots of holes thru) by a company which used Ultrasonic Machining. It wasn't cheap though!

You could Google "Ultrasonic Machining Glass"- that gave loads of companies which do it.

Do you think is possible to build one for the homebuilt CNC table? I wonder how difficult as compare to waterjet. I can't find any information to build one besides companies that offer services.
