So I'm looking at making a CNC plasma. A new machine torch is going to double to cost of the 2nd hand plasma I use with it. Since the torch tip spares are the basic working parts of the torch, couldn't I just buy some 'spares' and make a 'torch' on the lathe or whatever to suit?

Anyone ever done it, or got any diagrams / pics of torch internals - I guess its basically just mounting the off-the-shelf tip components in a tube and supplying the air and power. Anything I'm missing here? It seems pretty straightforward (so it won't be...)?
