    Z Axis info

Ive been doing some research on building my Z axis floating head and have some questions.

    1. What revolution should I look for in the lead-screw and nut? I've seen guys running everything from .25 to 1.

    2. The suppliers Ive looked at for the lead-screw do not list the back-lash. For ex, mcmaster's precision acme lead screws. Should I just measure the BL once the Z is built then have mach compensate for it?

    3. I planned to use mcmaster's Precision Subminiature switch. Will mach let me compensate for the travel length of the switch?

I bought this one to use with CandCnc and Mach. Can't build one for the price.

K2 6" travel. Has the float switch mounted and ready to go.
