    Flowjet

I have a flowjet and new to there software. I have ran Omax in the past and let me say Omax is much much easier. But I have a question. Is there a way to do manual cutting on the flow? On the Omax you just pick the direction and set a length to cut. I can't seem to find anything like it on Flow. And it is kind of silly to create a whole new program just to trim some excess material off of a piece of material. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, fow's machine are not easy to operate, becasue the make software by themself.
But doubt whether you have received training from the seller, it is basic thing before you
really operate a waterjet cutting machine

Maybe you can check the software opearting interface if there is any notes about "manual".

It's been more than 5 years since I operated a flow machine, I almost forget it, and it may changes a lot.

Our machine has a some button on the software opearting interface, like "Automatic" and "Manual", I can switch it to manual control easily. Also, there are "X+","y+","z+"......., you can control movement of X-axis and Y-axis or Z-axis by cliking the buttons.

    Hope it helps

    wayerjet cutoff

    Sir,

I posed the question to a Flow user and his reply is below:

    JC

I cannot remember my login to that site but if you would like to post the following it is ok.
There is not a way to program a single line cut in Flow Cut software, I would really like this feature. You would have to create a new ord file from FlowCut. That is way too much work. The best way to cut off the end of a sheet is to adjust your default low speed jog speed to a speed that works well (such as 18 IPM for ¼ steel) and drive the machine in low jog speed using the arrow keys and manually controlling the on/off and the garnet. I hope this helps.

    Rich

    Regards,
    JCC

I just keep a single line template it will take me nor even a minute to edit the line to either make it longer or shorter. it will take too much time to go in to the parameters and adjut the speed rate. The way I do is very easy I do it all the time .

As long as you have your jog speed where you want it is doable. You just need to have your jog speed as whatever you want your cut speed to be and then use the advanced > jog to a point feature. Make sure your water is activated so it is just always on while you are doing that. We use it all the time when we are just doing quick stuff.

Theres a ton of cool tricks. I use flow exclusively. Couldn't be happier. I've heard nightmares where people have bought waterjets and they cant get parts 5 years later. Not my cup of tea.
