THC setup

Port 4 and port 8 are "virtual" ports. Port 8 is an input port that shares the inputs with port 1. So port 1 pin 11 is also shared with port 8 pin 11. It allows having double the inputs of a normal parallel port (limited to 5) that is also a motor output port.

Port 4 is a (virtual) output port and allows for 8 outputs (besides the 4 step & dir outputs).

Ouputs 18, 19 and 20 (port 1 pin 1; pin 14 and pin 16) are the REAL port 1 outputs and they control the 8 individual relay driver outputs. so it takes 3 signals and turns them to 8 and makes them available as port 4 outputs. Get the polarity wrong OR the setting in a newer ccc_comm wrong (needs to ne set for UBOB 1 or UBOB 2 in your case) and the outputs go wookie.

is there anybody can help me to find where to buy a Torch Height Control or Oxygen Torch Height Control for may USBCNC CPU5 Controller from Eding CNC - PC based CNC control or somebody have experiences to THC or OHC for this kind of cnc controller..

You need a "stand Alone " THC (not tied to the control software)

Torchmate sells one for $2499

There are a couple of used Hypertherm units on E-BAY

Rutex used to sell one but it would be for an experienced builder to make it work

USB interface does not allow fast enough inputs to do real time feedback for use with the control software like you can with MACH or EMC

There are rumors of a Chinese one on E-Bay but reports I have so far indicate they do not work. There is a lot more to doing Torch Height Control than just measuring the arc volts and moving the torch up and down.

is there a less expensive stand alone THC in the market? also this stand alone THC are easy to install because i am new in this CNC Plasma and Oxy fuel config....
