    End of my wire!

Running a job;the wire runs out and I go to re-lace it. I come to find the head line up is halfway between the start and the last point of contact (straight cut). No obstructions to short it out in the way. Anybody with any suggestions as to what happened?

As you are wiring the part it is relieving the internal stress in the part . When this happens it closes the gap around the wire causing a short . Ever cut a bushing , say you had a .6 start hole and needed to go to .625 .The slug doesnt drop it spreads out pushing against the walls ...Is this your problem ...!

Thanks. Hard lesson learned as I am only getting back into Wire EDM after being away from it for over 20 yrs. I lost my start position and may have ruined my piece. From now on, I am writing down my Mach. Position at the start of the job. I am learning on my own as I go.
