Hi, I'm new here. Seems a great forum, loads of different sections for help !
Perhaps someone can help me? We,ve just had a Fanuc W0 non submerged wire machine.
We're having problems with the feedrate. We can't slow it down for the approach. Our test piece is 32mm thick. The feed comes in at 1.9 mm per min and that's with the override set at it's lowest.
Which of the settings controls speed ?

Also, there is some type of micro switch that's actuated by the splash guard, this wasn't working, when we fixed it, it seemed to make a difference to controlling the speed.
As we often work on long sections, we often need to remove the splash guard, is it OK to short it out. I don't see any need for this switch ( but then I'm a Japax 3B guy ) !!

Yea its okay but water gets all over...I would pull the switch interlock off the splash guard and put it in the switch , that way the machine will work with or with out the splash guard........

Here's a puzzler - on a part we did yesterday, a particular radius wouldn't graph - we got error code 20. We used I and J values for the rad. When programmed with R ( R 3.00 ) it graphed OK but when machined it crashed at this rad.
I programmed the shape from the other direction and it cut OK using I and J values.
I checked the intersections in Autocad and they were only .0004 mm out.
The book says that within 20 microns it should be OK.
Any ideas ?

I also have a W0.
For the feed as you have been (G95) servo feed but you can control with constant feed G94 F120. F being the feed rate of 1.2mm/min.
F0.6 would be 0.6mm/min.
Over ride can also be used with this by the switch on the panel front.
You dont need to asign G95 unless previously using constant feed within a program.

distance between start point and ctr of arc and arc to end point exceeded value in Parameter 876.
