Laser. Its a bit vague i know , Will know after lunch more info on material itself

    Thanks

It is likely thicker than .7mm.....probabbly more like 7 to 13 mm thickness. Normally either AR400 or AR500 series plate is used (often used for rifle range targets and for armor plating). These materials cut almost exactly the same as regular A-36 steel plate...when cut with plasma. Water jet will do ok, laser has a hard time with most of this type of plate.

You are assuming he is talking about steel plate. He could be talking about polycarbonate (some people call it bulletproof plastic), kevlar, dyneema, spectra, any number of ceramic armor materials. At .7mm I would guess he is talking about some ballistic grade textile but we will obviously need more info to be sure. What the material is will dictate the best process to use.

What size rounds do you need to stop Donie, I often make the steel targets Jim is talking about. Some for high powered rifles but 12mm AR450 is required.
It can't be a textile material you are asking about because 1. A plasma worn't cut it and 2. a scissors will.
A .220 swift round will go through 15mm mild steel at 50yrds, it bearly marks AR450.
    Where are you BTW
