Exclamation Rapid Fill Problem FX20 EDM

We have an older Mitsubishi FX20, and we write or programs with ESPRIT. We have had constant problems with the rapid fill function not working correctly. I make sure that the programs have M78 twice, just in case the first M78 is below table level. I cleaned the work tank fluid level sensor, and the two float sensors on the table level and the head. When the program runs it picks up the first M78 ninety percent of the time it skips the second M78 and starts fluid, wire, and machining without water to head level. Is there anything else I should be aware of that could cause the machine to think the water level is at head level before it really is?

Sounds like one of your float switches is duff.

We have CX20s and FA20s here so I'm hoping the FX20 has the same floats and setup as our CX20s

IMPORTANT You have to feel comfortable with your machine to perform the next process - IF IN DOUBT CONTACT YOUR SERVICE ENGINEER I will not be held responsible for the accuracy of info given below - your choice!

With the machine at "ready on" and waiting for it's next job to be set
    goto:

    Machining data page
    Turn over the page
    highlight maintenance user
    type : M then INPUT
    highlight maintenance maker
    type : M then INPUT

    Goto maintenance page
    next menu
    debugger

press EOB a couple of times so the highlight is in the first box

then arrow key right until your highlight cursor is like the example below

    00000000 oooooooo oooooooo
A(________H_____)D(_______ (I've use the letter H for the highlight cursor)

So you should have your cursor underneath the 2nd "o" in the first bank of binary digits

This is the dangerous point - not for the faint hearted

type in A90000 (A ninety thousand) when you type the last 0(Zero) the screen will change

If your machine freezes then you will have to reboot; because we got the above wrong!

If you've got this far successfully, you can manually lift and drop each of the floats with your finger and watch the screen you should see some of the binary digits change from o to 1.

If you are lifting and dropping a float and nothing is happening and you're sure you're in the correct A90000 screen you have a duff float!

    HTH

Would just the float be bad or the sensor that it rides up and down on too?

We've experienced both: damaged mag float and broken sensor shaft (Including damaged wiring)

Sometimes it's the float bobbing "out of square" as the tank fills that stop the float rising to the top (Read: Dirty)

We have 8 Mitsy machines here (some are 16 years old) so we've had our fair share of interesting problems.
