    Bench Testing MACH3 and g540

Trying to do bench testing. I loaded the XML, have charge pump off, green light. Motor is engaged in that it won't free spin. Pins 10 and 12 are grounded. The reset button will not go off. No limit switches or anything is set up, I just want to see the motor spin via computer. What do I do to get it to ignore what ever estop issue it's having.

Toggle the active low setting of the estop in ports and pins, input pins.

It came up with a warning message about that saying it would flip all of them. I just disabled all the inputs too. It still gets it.

Well I got it to ignore codes by setting e stop and home switches to port 0, but nothing moves. I just want to see a motor spin

I couldn't get my 540 to work with the 540 XML either. Try the Mach3 Plasma XML, it worked for me. Make sure the MaxNC mode on ports and pins is NOT checked

The e-stop line on a G540 is tied into the g540 circuits (disable) so you need at least a jumper across the E-Stop input. At that point the e-stop signal should go to MACH through the parallel connection. Use the MACH Diagnostics screen and the RAW PORT INPUT BIts (top row). Most inputs signals will show Green (open = inactive). The e-stop pin should change as you jumper or open the E-stop input on the G540. You can "fool" MACH by changing the polarity of the e-stop input BUT you can't fool the G540 if the E-stop inputs are not jumpered.
