    Burny 10 XP Upgrade

I have one of the original burny 10 controllers on my C&G Challenger (from 2002). I am looking to upgrade the NT OS to XP. I understand that spending the 17,000 for a new controller might be the easiest way i am looking to save some money. does anyone have experience with this? Let me know if you have any ideas.
    Thanks,
    Rob

If the Burny 10 still works, why fix it?
It is designed to whittle a doughnut out of a plate of steel, not surf the web or play SIM.
Buy a cheap XP computer and set it next to the B10.

The hardware in the older B10's was not compadable with the new OS.

Burny has a whole herd of programmers who spent 2-3 years changing over to XP from NT.

That is the only cheaper way than buying a new B10 LCD+
BTW Ill sell you a new 2 Axis B10+ for $13k...Still too expensive tho.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

correct it does work still, i just would like to use a USB Flash drive. I don't have it connected to a network so i am getting sick of my floppy disks not reading. Is there is a way to have NT use a USB flash drive?

I have no clue about NT properties.

You could connect the serial port of the B10 to a PC and download that way.
Make sure you use isolated short haul modems if you are using a plasma that has HF satarting.
The electrical noise will eat the PC and B10 serial ports.

    You also could contact ed@valleycuttingsaystems.com
He makes USB converters for the B3 & 5...They may work for the 10

    Good Luck

    Dear Rob,

I work for Profile Cutting Systems in Australia. A colleague and I have noticed several months ago that the upgrade you desire is very sort after. The Burny10 is a great controller. For such reasons we have developed our own usb upgrade for the Burny 10. The upgrade includes the installation of our own software and the mounting of a usb bracket in place of the RS232 port. The upgrade doesn’t involve any motherboard modifications or the adding of any external devices, as such this is a very reliable upgrade running at true Version 1 USB speeds. Ill add a pic of the upgrade later.

This is just a pic of one of many test machines we have. Of course the upgrade is much neater than this but you get you the general idea.

So far I believe we are the only people around the world who can offer such an upgrade.

If you would like more info just let me know by IM or email, the USA is always a great place to visit .

    Cheers,

    Jason.

I'm looking for a X44-32509 motherboard, ITOX for my burny 10. We are currently functioning but not sure for how long. We have the board rigged with a paper clip to keep the unit functioning. Any ideas on a used board. The number on the actual board is CB60-BX rev. B1. The burny 10 programming manual is AO-70141-0 revision 9.
Our machine is a Koike Aronson VG Millennium, model number, VGM 3100.
