    Oxy/fuel attachment help

Running a Practical CNC System with wincnc controller & hypertherm 1650 plasma currently. I am looking at adding oxy/fuel capabilities to my machine. I know that the PCNC guys are no longer in buisiness so getting help from them is a lost cause. Basically what type of silenoid would I be needing and how would we g about integrating it to be controlled by the pcnc controller?

I can't really help you with the wincnc hook up.

For the solenoid(s) on my mach3 system I used (2) oxygen safe 1/4" NPT 110V coil normally closed solenoid valves & (1) 110V solenoid rated for oil/air/water valve for the fuel gas.

You can buy them for 12,24 volt operation as well just be sure at what pressure they will operate. Most usually the lower the voltage the lower operating window the valves will have.

I have noticed several posts on the Zone that others are using wincnc. Someone here has most likely done what you are wanting to do, if it's possible. It may take some time searching

You also might want to contact one of the forum moderators & ask that this thread be moved here http://www.cnczone.com/forums/wincnc/
This thread is for wincnc users in general.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
    If it works.....Don't fix it!

I cannot help with the Wincnc as far as connecting gas and Oxygen solenoids.

You will want to be careful of the heat generated when Oxy-fuel cutting.
The Practical CNC is built of Aluminium and the heat from cutting will warp the frame very quickly. There is not much room between the table and the bridge.

A heat shield under the bridge with a 4 inch air gap willhelp. but this will cut down on the maximum thickness you can cut.

It is not an oversite that no one makes flame cutting machines from AL.

    Good Luck,
