    Shop Data Systems

The place I work for purchased MG industries SM1000 Gantry plasma setup. The software is pretty old (shop data systems version 5.6 rev 5) and does not come with any documentation or support by the programers. We can create dxf files but cannot send them to the plasma because it is coming up with a "missing security device..." error. The device (rs232 adapter and special cable) is installed. So are the black box modems.
Does anyone have any experience in this software setup that can send me in the right direction?
Also, I've been looking around for new software and am not sure which direction to go. We can create CAD drawings easily enough with autocad. Can we just run a program to convert dfx to something the MG system will understand via dumb modems?
Any information would much be appriciated.

What kind of control? MG System 80? If so this is a re-badged Burny 3.0.

Did you get all the manuals with it?

I have electronic copies if you need anything.
