Wire EDM - Aluminum - Troubles

Hello, i am trying to Wire 1.5" forged aluminum without success on a Mitsu dwc100.

My have started with minimul settings and kept winding them up but the wire breaks instantly no matter what I do.

I am wondering how important the resistivity of the fluid is as our operator does not bother with resin as he find the machine works well without it. (for steel anyway).

    thanks
    Sean

Ionisation level makes all the difference. We set out Charmilles 330F on 15.0 for steel and 10.0 for aluminium

Thanks, I thought as much but don't think for now that the resin will be ordered as the aluminum cut is for a "special" project. (smile).
