    Edgefinding with wire machine

    Hi,

I am posting for a friend. He has a Japax LU3B with a VH02 power supply that is new to him. He is trying to set up a job and is getting varying results while trying to edge find with the wire. There is no consistency,

Anyone ever have a similar problem? If so do you know a fix?

    Thanks,

    Ernie

Wire must be aglined verticaly . for good results .run wire slow , tension must be on . workpiece must have a clean edge and must be square to wire . no oil or water on edge . Power and ground cales must be in good condition ,no tape together cabling....

like posted above. Make sure the ground cables are good. Check the water resistivity. If those are good check for loss motion in the travel. I tend to write a macro that picks up the location 3 times and sets to the average. You can include an IF statement to have the machine alarm out if the the average is above a set amount. This is assuming the japax control is similar to an older sodick control.
