    Sandblasted look using a CNC

    Hi,
We're trying to replicate the LOOK of sandblasted woodgrain using a Multicam CNC router (we run EnRoute 4 software.) If anybody has done this, or has any sources for a good texture file for this kind of thing we'd love to hear about it!

    Thanks

    Excellent question.

I've been posting on the topic over at the Vetric Forum. Vectric Forum • View topic - No luck with sandblasted woodgrain made on CNC You may be pleased with the woodgrain a router will render. Many people are satisfied but I'm not pleased at all. Most of the signs are larger and it's with these where the router effect downgrades the image quality.

I personally don't think there is any way a router can come close to sandblasting. But you might not be as critical as I am.

The above is an example of computer routed sandblast look. It doesn't look very natural to me. For those who aren't familiar to the process I didn't want them to think this was sandblasted.
