I was wondering if there is any hazards to breathing in milled brass or steal dust. I would assume that there is much fine dust being thrown around when milling, and sometimes I blow the surface of my table off to clear off the metal. I was wondering if the smaller dust, probably dust you can't see, will be hazardous to my lungs if I breath it in? Anyone know anything about this area? |

| Some metals are really nasty to machine due to inhalation hazards. Beryllium is one such, I believe, and you have to assume depleted uranium would be too! I have never heard this to be the case for steel and aluminum, but unless you're grinding, your chips should be bigger than dust anyway. Best, BW
