Cool Engraving Aluminium Feed Rate And DOC?

    Hi all,

I have 30 degree ''V'' kind engraving tools carbide made I would like to engrave aluminium, I have seen charts of feed rate for that but the max rpm was 15000rpm, but my spindle is a 26000rpm what is the feed rate I need to use with that much rpm? Im afraid that if I go to slow aluminium will stick to the tip due to the heat and i will break the tip of the tool. I never used this kind of tool

What about depth of cut how deep i go per pass?

    Thank you,

    Gustavo

ive always engraved with a #0 center drill, and around .005" DOC, and 2,000-3500 rpm, solid carbide.

I run my spindle speed around 6000 rpm feedrate 40, depth around .001-.003 there is alot of room to play with speeds and feeds with these tools, just don't go to deep. and watch your finish

I have been using a ridged router running 16000 rpm. I use a 60 degree bit from precise bits, and have been able to run .03 deep regularly with flood cooling cutting 6061.

    I use the EM2D8-1250-60V with .250 bushing.
