| Check MSC catalog, normally Electric edgefinder work with metal ...... 'cause it need ground to trip the light. But I think they also have electric edgefinder with a spring load and claim work with any material but it's expensive you are talking $200 plus.

| Those kind of lasers are just visual, and not so accurate as a regular edgefinder. I'd go with a 3D probe. The actually require the motion to move the tip to register the edge, so will work with materials that don't conduct electricity. I got one like the one in this thread: http://www.machsupport.com/forum/ind...ic,5004.0.html Haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but it was very well made for the price. Best, BW
