Looking for suggestions in drilling ECO BRASS. This is lead free and seems to want a sharp drill (no hone) vs. 316 leaded which likes a heavy hone. Material = 75% Cu, 21.5% Zn, 3% Si, less than 1% trace. No luck with Carbide (breakage) and fair luck with HSCo. Any comments are Welcome! |

Hi, My name is Larry Muller and I'm the Manager of Metallurgy and Technical Services at Chase Brass which produces ECO BRASS. Can you give me more information on the type of hole you're drilling, the machine and the geometry of your current drill? We have an in-house machining technical support engineer who has helped a lot of companies deal successfully with ECO BRASS. Regards, Larry |
