    Machines with C-axis

    Hi everyone,

I was looking for information about machines with C-axis installed, but i didn't find any useful information, seems to me like rare machines. Can someone give me some advice in where to look? I would like to know the working principle of these turn banks/milling machines with C-axis.

i mean machines like this (with an indexed spindle):

If you think this is cool, check out the "multitasking machines" with c and b axis. They don't stop there, adding turrets, sub-spindles, etc. Stama makes some really cool turn-mills, also check out the more conventional platforms like those from Mazak, Mori-seiki, DMG, Okuma, etc.

    The possibilities are endless!!!!

    Hi there,

think you might find these of some use...

    http://www.cnc-toolkit.com/cnc_machines.html

    http://www.numeryx.com/cnc/5axes.htm

    http://www.doughtydrive.com/

You should check the 'demos' section of the doughtydrive website... there are some good videos of these drives running a range of rotary axis configurations...

    hope this helps
